Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your VPS control panel account by requiring both your password and a time-based code.
Activate 2FA
Log in to your VPS control panel.
In the top menu, click on Account and then Two-factor Authentication.
Open your preferred 2FA app (e.g. Aegis, Ente Auth, Proton Authenticator, Bitwarden Authenticator) and scan the QR code shown on the screen.
If you can't or don't want to scan the QR code, enter the secret code displayed under the QR code manually.
Your 2FA app now shows a time-based six-digit number. Enter it on the screen to verify your 2FA setup.
Done.
Backup your recovery codes!
On the screen you will find a button called Backup codes. Click it and store a secure copy of the codes — you can use them to log in if you lose access to your 2FA app.
Using 2FA for Future Logins
Once 2FA is enabled:
- Enter your username and password as usual.
- You'll be prompted for a 6-digit authentication code.
- Open your authenticator app and enter the current code.
- Complete the login process.
INFO
If 2FA is enabled for your account, certain features like VNC connections may require additional authentication.
